Is it really free?

Yes. No card, no trial, no paid tier. You renew once a year from the dashboard, and renewal is free.

Can I use Cloudflare with it?

Not yet. Domains under vc.ci are not on the Public Suffix List, so Cloudflare will not accept one as a standalone zone. Until then our DNS panel gives you the same records.

How many domains can I have?

One per account by default. Extra slots are granted by hand after an application in our GitHub repository.

What happens when it expires?

You can renew from 180 days before the expiry date. After expiry there is a 30-day grace period, then the name is released.

Why do you verify accounts?

Every account — including Google, GitHub and FreeDNS sign-ins — goes through a short manual review. It is the only thing that keeps a free namespace usable.

What can't I use it for?

Phishing, scams, impersonation, malware, spam and anything illegal. Abusive names are suspended without notice.
